The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sydney entered into a partnership with Stoneglass Industries in 2015 to incorporate Australian developed Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies into dentistry courses and research activities.

During the initial phase of this project, Stoneglass Industries are providing the Faculty of Dentistry and its students the opportunity to expand their learning by integrating emerging technologies and fostering innovation.
This will further enhance the skills of our students and prepare them to become leaders in oral health, dentistry and research.

Chris Peck, Dean

“We are pleased to be working with an Australian company, Stoneglass Industries to introduce an initial trial of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technologies into dentistry courses and research activities. The use of new technologies is becoming increasingly important in the practice of dentistry; its inclusion in our courses and research contributes to the University of Sydney’s development of highly sought after graduates.”

Georges Sara, Stoneglass Director
“Stoneglass is proud to be engaged with Sydney University’s Faculty of Dentistry to trial existing Australian developed CAD/CAM software and technology, and also to develop further tools to enhance the learning experience of dental students.  Combining technical solutions, CAD design software and a digital communication platform, available to both Dental Technicians and Dental Clinicians, will improve the clinical protocols resulting in better patient care.”
